Secrets

  • If you want to quickly upgrade your tools at the start of the game, go to the Bar. Time freezes inside in HM64, so this can be used to your advantage. Using a tool doesn't have to be using a tool for an actual purpose, it just can be hitting the B button while having it equipped to qualify as usage; therefore, this counts as usage towards an upgrade. Keep hitting the B button when you have the tool you want upgraded equipped, and when you're low on energy, either eat something from your inventory or order Water from Duke. It's a tedious process, but it's possible to upgrade all your tools to Gold in 1 night.
  • You can also wait until you've purchased the Bottle to upgrade all your tools. Stand in the bottom of the Brewery at the Vineyard, and when you're out of energy, fill the bottle with wine. This trick can also be used in the Barn, where you can fill the bottle with Milk from your cows when you've run out of energy.
  • Once you have upgraded your Hammer to Gold, go to the pond by the fisherman's tent in the Winter. It will be frozen over so you'll be able to walk up to the boulder behind it. Use your Gold Hammer to smash the rock, and you'll receive a power berry.
