Letters
Hello! Is it cold there? I'll visit your farm again in the spring. Father at Florist
Unused Content
Basil actually did work at the Florist, but his task list shrank when the Improving Crops function became unused content.
Basil Improves Your Crops
You could request Basil’s help with improving your produce. The only hints of this were left in Basil’s unused dialogue. As far as mechanics go, it seemed that once you asked Basil to improve one type of crop for 800G, it would affect every plant of that type on your field- changing them to GOOD quality produce. While GOOD quality vegetables were left listed in available items, they weren’t given separate product images, which means it probably was halted after the basic mechanics of it were worked out and subsequently tossed into the scrap pile. Full dialogue is found in the collapsible table below.

Trivia
- Basil proposed before he gave Lillia the blue feather, because he wasn't aware of their customs in Flowerbud Village.
- Basil says he's from Green City in the West, where it's springtime year-around and people travel there to collect blooms.
- Since Basil's age is 36, it is likely he was a father at a very young age- possibly 18.
